Terms of use

Last updated: August 2026

These terms cover the Taperly mobile app and this website, both operated by Dot Systems, Sweden. Using either means you accept them. They are short because the relationship is simple: there is no account, no subscription and nothing of yours on our servers.

What you get

You may use the app on your own devices, for your own training and racing, free of charge. You may not resell it, or copy the race data and checklists out of it to build a competing product.

Your data is yours

Everything you enter stays on your phone. We hold no copy, so we cannot restore anything for you. Deleting the app deletes your data permanently. Use the backup export in Settings before you switch phones or reinstall. How the rest is handled is described in the privacy policy.

The app is preparation, not advice

Taperly helps you organise. It does not give medical, safety or coaching advice, and it is not connected to any race organiser or governing body. Schedules, cut-off times, water temperatures, wetsuit rules and course details in the app are estimates and convenience copies. The official athlete guide and the race organiser are always the authority, and you are responsible for checking them.

Weather forecasts come from a third party and can be wrong. Train and race within your ability, follow the instructions of officials and lifeguards, and speak to a doctor about anything medical.

Availability and changes

We may change or discontinue features, and this is a young product, so parts of it will move. The app works offline by design, but the weather and race-photo services it uses are outside our control and may be unavailable.

Liability

The app is provided as it is, without warranty. To the extent Swedish law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it, including a missed start, missing kit or a decision made on information shown in the app. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.

Trademarks

Race and event names are used descriptively, to identify the events you are preparing for. They belong to their respective owners, and their use here does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Questions go to support@dotsystems.se.
